American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and working night shifts in an adult and geriatric care setting.

Located on the 6th floor of a 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II Trauma designation
-
Acute Medical/Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric patients (ages 18+)
-
Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
13-week contract
-
Rotating weekend shifts required
-
Occasional floating to similar units
-
Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps

Charting system: Cerner
-
Active Michigan RN license required
-
Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise decisive judgment with minimal supervision

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Hospital specialties include Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics

Facility is located in Marquette, MI, the largest community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible

Orientation is held bi-weekly

Scrub color: Galaxy Blue (Navy is also acceptable)

Fingernails must be kept clean and at a reasonable length per the Hand Hygiene Policy; offensive tattoos must be covered; excessive jewelry is not permitted
