Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - 12 hr shifts
Job Purpose
The Dispatchers are responsible for the tracking and management of drivers, trucks, and their respective loads. Dispatchers will develop and maintain a solid working relationship with drivers and other team members as well as communicate and collaborate with other departments in order to resolve issues.
Essential functions
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for communication and tracking of drivers throughout their entire shift.
- Maintain an open line of communication to ensure driver’s needs are met.
- Communicate with driver on preplans and progression of loads to ensure all loads are delivered on time.
- Assist the drivers with fuel stops and routes ensuring timeliness and efficiency.
- Maintain an amiable, genuine and supportive relationship with drivers on both a personal and professional level.
- Address driver communications and provide required data to drivers.
- Issue monies and purchase order numbers to drivers as needed.
- Assist drivers in handling equipment breakdown; notifying in-house road breakdown and ensuring driver is connected to towing or repair shop.
- General office jobs such as scanning, copying, filing, & faxing as necessary.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent degree or equivalent experience in position
- Microsoft Office Suite, AS400 and TMW experience a plus
- Good human relations and effective communication both oral and written
- Must be able to multi-task
- Transportation experience required
Work environment
Employee must be able to work in a high energy, high stress environment. Workplace is a climate controlled office. Employee must be capable of effective communication with customers, drivers & other peers in a professional manner, representing a high level of professionalism and customer service.

- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs
