Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support the daily operations and maintenance of our facilities in Pasadena, CA.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with commercial building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance. This individual will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations while providing excellent service to tenants and staff.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a commercial building engineer or facilities maintenance technician.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on HVAC experience in commercial buildings.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair building equipment and systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and responding to service requests.
- Familiarity with commercial building safety standards and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, contractors, and internal staff.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond with urgency to maintenance issues.
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, lift equipment, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer proficiency, including work order systems and email communication.
- EPA Certification or trade-related certifications preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of commercial building systems and facility grounds.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment and related systems.
- Monitor and maintain plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
- Ensure compliance with building safety procedures and company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service through responsive communication and follow-up with tenants and staff.
- Participate in on-call emergency maintenance support as needed.
- Assist with additional facility-related projects and duties as assigned.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
