Part-Time Worship Leader — New Hope Community Church
New Hope Community Church is seeking a passionate, spiritually grounded Worship Leader to guide our congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship. This part-time role is ideal for someone who loves leading others in worship, enjoys mentoring a team, and wants to grow both musically and spiritually alongside our church family. It's also a great fit for someone looking to join a small church in a season of growth, or for a worship leader looking to build their experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- $57.69 per Sunday worship service (includes 1-hour practice prior to service)
- $57.69 per weekly rehearsal (minimum 1 hour)
- Paid twice monthly by direct deposit
- 2 weeks paid time off, with additional unpaid time off available upon request (2 weeks' advance notice)
- Note: Missed or canceled practices/services are unpaid, except when approved PTO is used
What You'll Do
Worship Planning & Preparation
- Plan and lead weekly worship sets aligned with the sermon theme and season
- Introduce two new songs per month, including during holidays
- Prepare scripture for on-screen projection in coordination with the Pastor
- Use our approved Worship App for song distribution and team communication
Team Leadership & Development
- Schedule and lead a weekly team rehearsal (about 1.5 hours) plus Sunday morning practice (about 1 hour before service)
- Mentor and spiritually encourage worship team members
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Equipment & Sound
- Oversee upkeep of church sound equipment and coordinate repairs with the Trustees
- Maintain an equipment inventory and liaise with a sound technician as needed
Communication & Administration
- Communicate weekly song selections to the team by Monday for the following Sunday
- Keep worship-related accounts, files, and resources organized and up to date
- Document practice and service hours

Audition Process
Candidates will complete a 4-week trial period, prayerfully planning, rehearsing with the team, and leading worship across 4 Sundays and their corresponding rehearsals. At the end of this period, the candidate will be evaluated by the worship team, the Pastor, and the Board of Trustees before a final hiring decision is made.
Review Process
Worship Leaders receive an annual performance review each December, conducted by the Pastor and Board of Trustees in collaboration with worship team members. Pay rate, continued employment, and benefits are determined based on this evaluation.

Pay: $57.00 - $115.38 per week
