Automotive Electrical Technician (12V / Emergency Vehicle Installs)
About the Role
Code 1 Solutions is a high-performance emergency vehicle upfitting shop. We build and service municipal fleets, law enforcement, EMS, and fire command vehicles. Unlike dealership or audio shop work, most of what we do is our own harnesses and control systems — separate from factory wiring. You’ll mainly connect to only three factory circuits (horn, ignition, and occasionally lights), and everything else runs on our wires.
This means clean work with a focus on building reliable mission-critical vehicles. If you can find an ignition source, wire relays and diodes properly, and have solid 12V troubleshooting skills, we’ll train you on lights, sirens, and advanced systems.
What You’ll Do
- Full vehicle tear-downs and reassembly (dash, panels, bumpers, trim)
- Wire and install 12V harnesses for lights, sirens, and communication systems
- Use relays, diodes, and CAN basics to integrate equipment
- Find ignition/horn sources and make clean, reliable connections
- Deliver finished vehicles that pass agency inspection standards
- Work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining precision and safety
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years experience with 12V automotive wiring (remote start, alarms, fleet, or electrical diagnostic work all apply)
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot basic electrical issues
- Familiar with relays, diodes, and CAN system basics (training provided)
- Strong mechanical aptitude for trim removal, bracket mounting, and fabrication support
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently
