Duties
- Assist with the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools and equipment
- Support skilled tradespeople by carrying out manual tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials according to project specifications
- Operate power tools safely under supervision, including drills, saws, and grinders
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards to maintain a secure environment for everyone on site
- Read and interpret basic construction plans and technical drawings to assist in project execution
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of building materials, ensuring proper techniques to prevent injury
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, or other structures as needed for access or inspection purposes
- Adhere to respiratory protection protocols when working in environments with dust or airborne particles
- Support the implementation of safety regulations by identifying hazards and reporting unsafe conditions promptly
Skills
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Physical stamina for manual handling, heavy lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with power tools and basic construction equipment
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and following detailed instructions
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
