Duties
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
- Prepare ingredients using knife skills, slicing techniques, and proper food handling procedures
- Cook and assemble meals according to established recipes and safety standards in the food industry
- Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to customers or residents
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety management protocols
- Help with catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring timely delivery
- Follow all safety standards in production, including proper use of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred, with familiarity in meal preparation and food handling
- Kitchen or restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in cooking, food service, and food safety practices
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and serving techniques within a food industry setting
- Understanding of food safety management systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking and attention to detail
- Culinary experience that includes food preparation, cooking, and adhering to safety standards in production
