Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant II (DA II) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), or a Dental Assistant I (DA I) with coronal polishing certification, to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, providing chairside support with dental instruments and materials.
- Perform coronal polishing procedures on patients, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and safety protocols.
- Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining accuracy while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and medical records management.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical history records, taking vital signs, and explaining treatment plans clearly using dental terminology.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments through proper processing techniques, maintaining aseptic technique throughout all clinical activities.
- Support patient management software systems to schedule appointments, update medical records, and facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a DA II or CDA; or DA I with coronal polishing certification from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental equipment, dental x-ray procedures, and infection control standards.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while following infection prevention protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; certification in healthcare infection prevention and control is desirable.
