Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of professional experience in dog daycare, boarding, training, veterinary, grooming, or another hands-on pet care environment.
- Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments.
- Strong understanding of canine body language and safe group play management.
- Able to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive environment.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
Dog Care & Safety
- Supervise structured playgroups while ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of every dog.
- Monitor dog interactions, recognize signs of stress or conflict, and intervene appropriately.
- Engage dogs through enrichment activities, play, basic training exercises, and individual attention.
- Assist with temperament evaluations for new dogs and communicate observations to management.
Daily Operations
- Open and prepare the facility for daycare each morning.
- Complete closing procedures and prepare the facility for overnight boarding.
- Follow all operational, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
Dog Care Support
- Safely transport dogs throughout the facility.
- Prepare and serve meals according to each dog's feeding instructions.
- Administer medications as directed and maintain accurate feeding and medication records.
- Report any health concerns, injuries, or unusual behavior immediately.
Facility Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean and sanitary facility, including playrooms, boarding areas, prep spaces, reception, break rooms, and outdoor areas.
- Follow cleaning and disinfecting protocols to ensure a safe environment.
Customer Experience
- Welcome pet parents and their dogs with professionalism and warmth.
- Check dogs in and out efficiently and accurately.
- Answer client questions and provide exceptional customer service.
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with handlers, trainers, groomers, and management.
- Participate in ongoing training and contribute to a positive team culture.
