Position Purpose:
The Preop/PACU/PAT/PHASE 2 departments at Mount Carmel Dublin are unique. TheRegisteredNurse would expect to see pre-surgical and post-surgical care cases including surgeries from the operating rooms, Endoscopy suite, non-invasive cardiac lab, and cardiac and interventional radiology suite. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in thePACU and a new patient can be expected in preop every hour. This is a fast-paced department with great energy and teamwork. Staff are cross trained in preop, PAT,PACU and phase2 which offers the opportunity to gainadditional skills and interact with different patient populations. This team will becomprised of tenured staff that are always happy to mentor new colleagues. The schedule is 4 10-hour shifts per week.
TheRegistered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional,social and spiritual needs.The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit ofteamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient careutilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies,procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do:
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and qualityinitiatives andexhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizingevidence based practice. Collaborates withpatient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical,spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information toappropriate team membersin a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completelypertinent assessments,interventions and outcomes for patientsin accordance with documentation standards, policies,procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers asappropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- For CasualRNs 2 years of experience isrequired.
- All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject toparticipate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
