Position Summary:
The Accounting Assistant contributes to the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role aids the entire accounting staff, maintains internal controls, and supports senior leadership and sales department by providing financial reports that aid in strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and categorize financial transactions into QuickBooks.
- Process invoices, track payments, and collection of receivables.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial records, including receipts, invoices, and contracts.
- Support the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
- Adhere to company policies and relevant financial regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Work closely with accountants and other team members to assist with financial audits and resolve any discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- QuickBooks Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in using QuickBooks for bookkeeping and financial management (recommended)
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial transactions and records.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.
Weekly Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 9am-3:00 pm
- Part time position in our Troy, MI office.
- Hours are subject to change.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
