LeafSpring Schools is a premium early childhood education and care program dedicated to exceptional experiences for children birth through school age. The Get Well Place is a dedicated, peaceful area of our building where children who are not feeling well can rest comfortably and be monitored until their family arrives — a warm, child-centered space designed to keep kids safe, calm, and cared for throughout the day.
THE ROLE
If you are a LPN/ RN who loves kids, values relationships, and wants a nursing role that feels a little different — this might be exactly what you have been looking for. The Get Well Place Nurse is a cornerstone of our school community. You will be the trusted face of health and wellness on our campus, overseeing the Get Well Place, leading infection control, coordinating allergies, managing immunization records, and serving as the go-to resource for our families, teachers, and leadership team. No two days look exactly the same, and the work you do genuinely matters to every child and family we serve.
WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE
- Monitor children in the Get Well Place who are not feeling well and communicate with families
- Assess and document injuries — think bandaids, bumps, and boo-boos — and complete incident reports
- Coordinate and maintain allergy records for all enrolled children; communicate needs to staff
- Track and manage immunization records in compliance with Kentucky childcare regulations
- Administer medication per Kentucky daycare regulations and LeafSpring policy
- Lead campus-wide infection control practices and communicate health alerts to families and staff
- Serve as the health resource for school leadership, teachers, and enrolled families
- Monday-Friday
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Current, valid nursing license in Kentucky (required)
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred — a genuine love for working with young children is a must
- Strong communication skills with families, staff, and leadership
- Organized and detail-oriented — accurate recordkeeping is a big part of this role
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain prior to start
