Infant Toddler Daycare Assistant (Temporary Position – Maternity Leave Coverage)

Position Type: Part-Time / Variable Hours leading to full-time October 2026.
Daycare operating hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-5:30PM.
- Variable schedule based on enrollment needs and licensing ratios
- Potential for morning, afternoon, or full-day shifts
- Weekly hours are not guaranteed and may fluctuate
Overview: We are a licensed family home daycare seeking a passionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our nurturing team while the owner is on maternity leave. The ideal candidate will work alongside the provider and/or lead teacher and may assist independently with daily childcare activities as permitted by licensing regulations. Hours will vary based on enrollment and child-to-provider ratios. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development and a genuine love for working with children. As a Daycare Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for young learners. Your responsibilities will include developing age-appropriate activities, managing classroom behavior, and fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote learning and development in accordance with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring all children feel respected and valued.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents regarding their child's development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a supportive community.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and learning materials.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Proven experience in classroom management techniques.
- Background in childcare or babysitting is highly desirable.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A patient, caring demeanor with a passion for teaching young children.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
