Position Summary
Fence Masters is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the business from our Chicago office. This role is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the company, including purchasing, installation coordination, and field operations. The ideal candidate has strong construction industry experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can lead teams while ensuring projects are completed efficiently and profitably.
This is an in-office position based in Chicago, five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across commercial and residential fencing projects
- Manage and coordinate field operations, installation crews, and scheduling
- Supervise purchasing and material procurement to ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and operational performance
- Collaborate with office staff and field teams to improve efficiency and communication
- Oversee billing processes and ensure timely invoicing and collections coordination
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction across all projects
- Identify opportunities to improve operational systems, workflows, and profitability
- Work closely with ownership and leadership on business operations and growth initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years of operations or management experience within the construction industry required
- Fencing industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, purchasing, and field management
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general construction/project management software
- Experience working with both commercial and residential projects is a plus

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
