Position Summary
The Residential Collection Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of residential solid waste and recyclables along assigned routes. This position requires operating collection vehicles, servicing customers in accordance with company standards, performing routine vehicle inspections, and maintaining compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures.
Duties:
● Provide trash removal services to customers, in a safe and compliant way, by emptying trash containers into truck and hauling to disposal site
● Replace trash receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area
● Clean up waste spills and overflows
● Assist in maintaining and updating route & driver log sheets
● Conduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspections and complete logs
● Maintain cleanliness of truck body, packer blade, and cab
● Assist in delivering trash containers as needed
● Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility:
● None
Qualifications:
● Commercial driver's license (CDL) – not required
● Valid driver’s license
● Legally eligible to work in the United States
● Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills
● Ability to read and understand a map
● Physically fit, capable of lifting heavy loads and performing demanding tasks
● Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers
● Must not have any DUIs or DWIs within the last 5 years
● Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
● Exposure to residential waste

Physical Requirements:
● Ability to enter/exit the truck repeatedly; approximately 300-500 times per day
● Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
● May be required to pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings
● Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 100 lbs
● Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
● Frequently climbing and/or balancing
● Frequently sitting/standing/walking
