Senior Business Analyst – IT Demand Management
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental stewardship, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for their Vancouver, Washington location. In this role, you will support IT demand management by coordinating workload intake, managing business request processes, and delivering data-driven insights that support strategic planning and decision-making. Responsibilities include business process analysis, reporting, stakeholder collaboration, requirements gathering, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support future technology initiatives.

Pay Range: $60.00 – 64.00/hr., DOE
Location: Vancouver, Washington – Remote eligible (must reside within 125 miles of Vancouver, WA). Approximately 1 day onsite per month; additional onsite attendance may be required for training, meetings, or business needs.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Business Analyst:
- Partner with IT leadership to support demand management, workload planning, and portfolio coordination across multiple technology initiatives.
- Analyze business processes and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency, resource planning, and decision-making.
- Coordinate project intake, business requests, and workload prioritization while ensuring requests are properly documented, tracked, and communicated.
- Maintain and support project management tools, SharePoint sites, and reporting platforms to ensure accurate data and effective collaboration.
- Collect, manage, validate, and analyze program data to produce dashboards, reports, and insights using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review project portfolios, discuss priorities, document decisions, and track action items.
- Develop business process documentation, requirements, business cases, training materials, and user guides to support technology initiatives and process improvements.
- Provide user support and training for demand management tools and business processes while promoting consistent data quality and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate new initiatives, system enhancements, and organizational change efforts.
- Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders while supporting strategic planning, portfolio management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain project documentation, records, and business information in accordance with organizational governance and compliance requirements.
Requirements for Senior Business Analyst:
- A degree in business administration, business management, accounting, computer or data science, organizational development or closely related technical field is preferred.
- With an applicable Bachelor degree, 8 years of experience is required
- With an applicable Associate degree, 10+ years of experience is required
- Without an applicable degree, 12+ years of experience is required
- Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of technical business analysis and information technology and progressively more technical in nature.
- 5+ years of experience supporting project management, project portfolio management, and demand and capacity planning.
- 5+ years of experience developing or implementing demand management processes, operational procedures, and business workflows.
- 5+ years of experience facilitating work planning, resource planning, and scheduling activities with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Project, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- 5+ years of experience facilitating business process improvements, requirements gathering, and stakeholder workshops.
- Experience supporting project management and organizational change initiatives using established project and change management methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications for Senior Business Analyst:
- Experience with Microsoft Project Server.
- Strong technical writing, process documentation, and program design experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other PMI certification.
- Change Management certification.
- Experience with ServiceNow, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), and/or Demand Management modules.
