Summary
We are seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to serve as Campus Crossing Monitors at Violet Elementary, specifically at the Evergreen/Violet crosswalk. This part-time position is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students as they arrive and depart from school. The Campus Crossing Monitor will play a vital role in maintaining a secure and supportive environment, fostering positive interactions, and promoting safe practices among students and parents.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during arrival and dismissal times to ensure safety at the Evergreen/Violet crosswalk.
- Assist students in safely crossing the street, following traffic regulations and school policies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address any concerns or issues related to safety.
- Monitor traffic flow and report any hazardous conditions or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Enforce school rules and policies consistently and fairly.
- Collaborate with school staff to promote a positive and safe school environment.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate behavior and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school environment is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in potentially stressful situations.
- Knowledge of traffic safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work part-time hours during school arrival and dismissal times.
- Must pass a background check and any other required screenings.
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus but not required.
Work Schedule: M-F 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM and 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM

Works in standard school environment and in outdoor weather.

Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and navigate outdoor areas in all weather conditions.

Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
