Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies, including estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and investment analysis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws by staying current on relevant regulations such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and securities law.
- Support regulatory reporting efforts by reconciling accounts, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.
- Conduct audits related to tax filings, financial statements, or internal controls, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clients to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively while providing exceptional customer service.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools for bookkeeping, financial report writing, and tax reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in tax compliance, tax law, or public accounting with a focus on individual or corporate taxation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, GAAP standards, and technical accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of estate planning tools like wills and trusts as well as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Exceptional client communication skills combined with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Experience working within regulatory compliance frameworks such as SOX or securities law enhances your candidacy.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
