Maintenance Technician
Small business in Kill Devil Hills looking for a dependable maintenance technician to undertake upkeep and repair tasks. We will rely on you to help keep our facilities in perfect condition. Must have a positive can-do attitude. Will be responsible for completing work orders assigned by the maintenance department in a timely manner. Duties may include troubleshooting, small repairs, winterizations, storm prep, door lock assistance and any other tasks assigned by the maintenance department. Hablamos Español!
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for upkeep and proper handling.
- Pool Experience: Must be able to speak and read English as it pertains to chemical and safety manuals.
- Ability to understand pool equipment and use pool cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain all work equipment/machinery regularly.
- Haul equipment, climb stairs and extension ladders to various heights.
- Track and record jobs, expenses, materials used, and hours worked.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs.
- Power washing and light painting.
- Individuals must be able to climb stairs, carry ladders, and equipment.
- Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks.
- Identify and report on the need for major repairs.
- Skillful hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a maintenance tech’s arsenal. You must be well organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.
- Knowledge of general maintenance safety.
- Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
- Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to lift 55 lbs, plus
- Able to safely lift and carry items while climbing stairs in buildings without elevators.
- Attention to detail.
- Should have good knowledge of basic home maintenance.
- Effective communication ability
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-4 years of related or closely related experience.
- Skills necessary to operate the following equipment and machines safely and efficiently: Backpack blower; broom; dustpan; ladder; extension pole; general hand tools; and safety equipment such as hearing and eye protection.
- Active Driver's License – Will be driving company vehicles.
- Must be able to drive a truck and trailer combo.
- Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)
- Initiative-taking, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
- Basic phone skills and computer skills.
- Work in extreme conditions (cold, heat, traffic)
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Schedule:
- Day shift
- Job Location: Corolla, Duck, and Kill Devil Hills.
- On call weekday rotation schedule for after hour emergency calls.
- Weekend availability for pool rotation schedule during the summer (May - October).
Job Type:
- Full-time (Year-Round)
- Relocation: There is no relocation assistance. You must have relocated prior of starting the job.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.
- Higher pay is based on experience.
- Background checks will be conducted.
- Drug Screen test will be conducted at hire and randomly.
