Southern Technical Institute -- Orlando Campus is now interviewing for a CNA/HHA Instructor. We are looking for a CNA or PCT to fill a part-time position teaching CNA Test Prep, and Home Health Aide courses.
We are currently seeking part-time candidates with availability to teach day and/or evening courses. The more flexibility you have to teach either day and/or nights/one weekend per month, the more hours that will be available.
No teaching experience required. We are willing to train the right candidates!
We are currently seeking an experienced CNA or PCT with additional experience in Home Care with a valid/current Florida certification that wants to share their healthcare expertise and knowledge with others!
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The right candidate will be instructing adult students in a combination of hands-on and theory classroom instruction. Basic duties include: classroom instruction, tutoring, and student retention. Instructor shall prepare, offer instruction and supervise students in the classroom to meet the requirements necessary to complete their courses successfully.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two years of work experience as a CNA or PCT/PCA in skilled and/or acute care settings.
- Must hold a current CPR certification in basic life support.
- Experience and comfort in communicating with adults from other nations, cultures and ethnic groups.
- Must hold a current State of Florida Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) License or higher and/or a national certification as a patient care assistant or technician.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Bilingual a plus
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule to possibly include day and evening classes.
- Must have a satisfactory drug and criminal background screening.
