We are seeking an experienced Welder Lead to oversee daily welding operations while working alongside the production team. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining production schedules, promoting a safe work environment, and providing guidance and support to welders and fabrication personnel. The Welder Lead will coordinate workflow, train team members, and collaborate with management to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support the welding team to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met.
- Review daily production schedules and prioritize work based on customer orders and shipping deadlines.
- Assign work, provide direction, and ensure employees have the necessary materials, equipment, and tools to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
- Perform and oversee MIG, TIG, Stick, or other welding processes as required while working alongside the team.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work orders, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Monitor workflow, inventory levels, and work-in-progress to maintain production efficiency.
- Collaborate with management, engineering, and production teams to resolve fabrication, welding, inventory, and scheduling issues.
- Perform final inspections to ensure all welds meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Train, coach, and develop employees on welding techniques, safety procedures, quality expectations, and equipment operation.
- Assist in maintaining welding equipment, fixtures, and tools, and coordinate routine maintenance as needed.
- Ensure proper documentation of materials used, completed work orders, and production routing.
- Assist other manufacturing and fabrication departments as needed to support production goals.
- Participate in production, quality, continuous improvement, and safety meetings.
- Maintain adequate levels of welding consumables, supplies, and materials.
- Package finished products for shipment according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate production updates, quality concerns, and operational priorities to team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Welder Lead, Lead Fabricator, or in a manufacturing leadership role preferred.
- 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding required; TIG, Flux-Core, and Stick welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and production documents.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metal fabrication, and quality control standards.
- Experience using grinders, saws, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and motivate employees while fostering a positive team environment.
- Basic computer skills for production tracking, inventory management, and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
