Big Biang Theory is hiring full-time Line Cooks / Kitchen Apprentices. We want straightforward, dependable team members who take pride in their work, learn quickly, and want to grow into leadership across our restaurant kitchen and food truck operations.
Clear Pay & Advancement Path
- First Full Pay Period (Trial & Training): $12.50/hr while learning stations, prep standards, and speed.
- Post-Trial Rate (Starting Week 3): Immediate raise to $14.00/hr upon demonstrating punctuality, clean station management, and line execution.
- 90-Day Review: Eligible for up to $16.00/hr based on independent station mastery and consistency.
- Kitchen Lead Track ($16.50 – $19.00/hr): Available for proven, highly reliable team members who lead by example on the line, set the standard for cooking and cleaning, and take on higher station responsibility and trust.
- Food Truck Shifts: Hourly base pay plus an equal tip pool split across the crew (significantly increases hourly take-home pay).
What You’ll Do
- Execute daily prep lists, portioning, and sauce production to exact recipe standards.
- Work line stations during busy rushes with urgency and cleanliness.
- Assist with food truck load-in, setup, event service, and breakdown (mandatory when scheduled).
- Maintain clean prep tables, line coolers, and kitchen equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Location: Must live within a 20-minute drive of the restaurant to ensure punctuality.
- Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to the restaurant and mobile food truck event locations.
- Schedule: Full-time availability (32–40 hours/week), including availability for scheduled food truck shifts.
- Second-Chance / Background Policy: Prior records are considered. We operate on directness and respect—be 100% upfront and honest about your background during your interview.
- Teachable attitude, strong communication, and basic commercial kitchen familiarity.
