Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, experienced and dedicated Grocery Store Manager to lead our Latino grocery retail team and ensure the smooth operation of our store. Duties
- Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to foster a motivated and skilled retail sales team.
- Manage payroll, budgeting, and bookkeeping tasks to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory control processes, including purchasing, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and stock rotation.
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for cashiering, sales transactions, and cash handling with precision.
- Implement effective merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation and maximize sales opportunities.
- Conduct shift management by coordinating staff schedules to meet store needs while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations while ensuring store cleanliness and organization.
- Develop training programs focused on employee orientation, managerial communication skills, and operational procedures.
- Foster a positive shopping experience by providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in the retail industry with a focus on grocery or similar stores.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities in Spanish are required for this position.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, and POS systems.
- Knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, budgeting, and basic math skills.
- Experience with cashiering, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and store operations management.
- Ability to conduct interviews effectively and recruit qualified candidates aligned with store needs and that are bilingual.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across various responsibilities.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with phone etiquette skills for engaging with shoppers professionally.
- Familiarity with retail management software tools for inventory control and operational reporting.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within grocery or retail environments is highly desirable.
