Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fuel Routing Dispatcher to coordinate fuel deliveries efficiently and ensure seamless road transportation operations. In this vital role, you will manage dispatching activities, optimize routing plans, and communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain smooth logistics workflows.
Duties
- Coordinate daily fuel delivery schedules using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software
- Plan optimal routes utilizing technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Communicate with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and timely updates
- Monitor fleet movements, track shipments, and adjust routes as needed to meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain accurate data entry of dispatch records, delivery logs, and shipment details in logistics databases
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards during dispatching activities
- Collaborate with internal teams on shipping & receiving schedules, freight management, and customer service inquiries
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in customer service, logistics, or related fields preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service, logistics, or a similar role within the petroleum industry is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for order processing, routing, and record-keeping.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
