Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with alternating weekends

Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, providing medication counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care. This is an onsite position requiring strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential overuse or misuse.
- Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
- Compound medications for internal and external use as needed.
- Prepare sterile solutions following established pharmacy procedures.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Provide preventive health services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure screenings, and cholesterol management.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Identify medication-related problems and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve them.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
- Active Pharmacist license in the applicable state.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication therapy, and patient counseling.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience with sterile compounding and medication management is preferred.
