Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Gang Rip Operator, where you'll play a vital role in the production process by efficiently operating gang rip machines to prepare materials for further processing. This position offers an energetic environment focused on precision, safety, and continuous improvement. As a key contributor, you'll ensure that materials are accurately cut and prepared, supporting the overall quality and productivity of our manufacturing operations.
Duties
- Operate gang rip machines to accurately cut raw materials according to specified dimensions and job orders
- Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal operation and prevent downtime
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform basic troubleshooting or report maintenance needs
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
- Maintain detailed logs of machine operation, material usage, and production outputs for quality control and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of production schedules
- Assist in setting up machines for different jobs, including changing blades or tooling as required
Requirements
- Proven experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably with gang rip or similar equipment
- Strong understanding of prepress processes, manufacturing standards, and safety procedures
- Understanding of wood species a plus
- Ability to read blueprints or work orders
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions and specifications
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks safely
- Must maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace
