PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN – INDUSTRIAL SEWER (PART-TIME)
Looking for a part-time position with a consistent schedule and flexibility? Frost River is seeking a Production Technician to join our sewing team, primarily supporting our contract manufacturing division. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is looking for 24–32 hours per week with scheduling flexibility.
For over 20 years, Frost River has been a staple of Duluth manufacturing. While we're best known for our handcrafted waxed canvas packs and bags, we also partner with like-minded companies to manufacture high-quality sewn products. The primary focus of this role is producing lightweight canvas outdoor seating covers for one of our contract manufacturing partners. For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to expand into sewing Frost River's signature outdoor goods over time.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate, or be willing to learn, a variety of industrial sewing machines, including single-needle machines, sergers, and automated tackers.
- Sew lightweight canvas components for outdoor seating covers with consistency and attention to detail.
- Maintain high-quality standards while working efficiently to meet production goals.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of the production team.
- Be dependable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Assist with training and supporting new team members as needed.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Industrial sewing experience in a professional setting is preferred but not required for candidates willing to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, stretch, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform basic cleaning and light maintenance on sewing equipment (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Position Details
Job Type: Part-Time (24–32 hours per week)
Compensation: Starting at $16.50/hour, with higher starting wages based on experience.
Schedule: Monday–Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. We offer flexible scheduling, with both 4-hour and 8-hour shifts available to help accommodate your availability.
Work Location: On-site in Duluth, MN
