We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting. The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a crucial role in implementing treatment plans, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, and ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs.
We are looking for both FULL time and PER DIEM. (Increased hourly with per diem)
Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy, and modalities as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition or response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, exercises, and home health strategies to promote recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
- Engage with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring acute care.
- Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean working environment in compliance with facility protocols.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Experience in post operative and outpatient clinics preferred.
- 2,000+ hours of experience minimum
- Can work independently, but with available full time PT.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plans for various patient demographics.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating compassion for patients' needs.
