Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide to provide high-quality support to individual in their home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, personal assistance, with a focus on enhancing the well-being and independence of clients. As a Home Care Aide, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the safety and comfort of those you serve.
***MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE USING A HOYER LIFT AS CLIENT IN BED BOUND****
Duties
- Assist client with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor client's health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall condition, reporting any changes promptly.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Support client with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community engagement activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient monitoring protocols.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in hospice care or autism support is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer equipment effectively.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and documentation while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities supports a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Demonstrated ability to handle manual tasks safely while providing personal support in diverse settings.
