American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience and an active Illinois RN license.

Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
-
13-week contract assignment
-
Day shift schedule from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
-
40 hours per week across 5 days
-
Weekend shifts required
-
Holiday shifts required
-
Uses EPIC charting system
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing
-
BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
-
ASN required, BSN preferred
-
Experience with OR suite preparation, patient positioning, patient transport, and surgical team support required
-
EPIC charting experience required
-
Provide direct nursing care to a designated group of surgical patients using the nursing process
-
Prepare OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
-
Perform patient identification using two identifiers and conduct timeouts at key points during procedures
-
Position and prep patients for surgical procedures using appropriate positioning aids and guidelines
-
Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, cultures, and medications

Transport patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provide handoff report to receiving RN
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care provided

Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
-
Requested time off may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
