Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Officer with law enforcement or miliatry backround (prefered) to safeguard our premises, assets, and personnel. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through vigilant surveillance, access control, and emergency response procedures. Your expertise in conflict management, law enforcement collaboration, and physical security will ensure the safety of everyone on-site. Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and perform regular patrols to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Control access points using advanced access control systems to verify authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events.
- Perform background checks on new hires or visitors as part of the security clearance process.
- Conduct physical security measures such as manual handling, heavy lifting, and patrolling designated areas.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incident responses to ensure compliance with legal protocols.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Tasers, firearms (where permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform CPR when necessary.
- Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety standards.
- Enforce compliance with all security regulations and company policies to uphold a safe environment for staff and visitors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles, military service, law enforcement or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of surveillance technology, access control systems, and physical security practices.
- Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and trained in emergency response procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged patrolling in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for incident report writing and conflict management.
- Familiarity with firearm handling and Taser use (where legally permitted).
- Demonstrated ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security assessments.
- Knowledge of compliance standards related to security regulations and law enforcement protocols.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
