Most hospice aide jobs pay you for the visit - and quietly expect the driving and charting for free. And most come with a weekend rotation and an on-call phone that follows you home.
This one doesn’t. Any of it.
Anova Hospice & Palliative Care is hiring a full-time Hospice Aide (CNA) based out of New Stanton, serving patients across Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Your weekends are yours - every one of them.
We pay for your whole day - not just the visit
-
Drive time between visits: paid at your full hourly rate. Not minimum wage. Not unpaid.
-
Documentation time: paid at your full hourly rate. Charting is part of the job, so we pay for it like part of the job.
-
Mileage reimbursement on top of paid drive time.
If you’ve worked per-visit before, do the math on what your “hourly rate” actually was after unpaid windshield time. Then compare.
What your day actually looks like
-
5–8 patient visits per day - real time with each patient, not a race between doors
-
Home territory: Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Occasional coverage visits in neighboring Allegheny, Washington, or Greene counties - and when that happens, every mile of drive time is paid at your full rate, plus mileage
-
Consistent assignments - you see the same patients, and their families know your name
-
You’re backed by an RN case manager and a full interdisciplinary team; you’re never the only set of eyes on a patient
Benefits that start fast
-
$20–$23 per hour, based on experience - bi-weekly pay
-
Company-provided health coverage for you AND your dependents, effective the 1st of the month after your hire date - no 90-day wait
-
PTO that grows with you: 10 paid days off in year one, 15 in years 2–5, 20 from year six on
-
6 paid holidays plus a paid day off for your birthday
-
401(k) eligibility after 3 months, with a 50% company match on the first 3% you contribute
-
Dental, vision, life, and short-term disability plans available
-
Paid training and continuing education
What you’ll do
-
Provide hands-on personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care - always protecting patient dignity
-
Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning for comfort
-
Support patients at mealtimes and with light tidying of the patient’s immediate care area
-
Observe and report changes in condition to the RN case manager
-
Document visits clearly and on time
-
Care for patients and families during one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives - this is skilled, valued work, and we treat it that way
What you’ll need
-
Active Pennsylvania CNA certification
-
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
-
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
-
Hospice or palliative care experience preferred - but if you have the heart for this work, we’ll train the rest
-
Physical ability to safely assist with transfers and personal care
