Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care of animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Handle dogs and other companion animals safely and confidently, ensuring proper restraint and behavior management.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards and prevent the spread of illness.
- Perform outdoor work such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor enclosures, and monitoring animal activity in open spaces.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and addressing their questions or concerns.
Experience
- Prior kennel experience is highly desirable.
- Experience handling dogs and other animals in a kennel or pet care environment.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, welfare practices, and restraint techniques.
- Comfortable performing manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Strong animal handling skills combined with excellent customer service abilities to ensure pet safety and owner satisfaction.
- Familiarity with pet care facility operations and animal restraint techniques to promote safety for both animals and staff.
