Position Overview
We are looking for a results-driven math educator with a demonstrated ability to raise SAT Math scores significantly and consistently. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the Digital SAT Math section, a strong command of the tested content areas, and the skill to break down complex concepts so that students at all levels can master them quickly. You will be part of a structured, data-driven teaching team committed to delivering real, measurable outcomes for every student.
Schedule
- Sessions are conducted after school hours
- Monday – Thursday: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Specific hours may vary by location
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver SAT Math instruction covering Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving & Data Analysis, Geometry/Trigonometry
- Develop lesson plans and practice materials aligned with Digital SAT format and Bluebook platform
- Administer and proctor weekly mock exams and analyze results to identify student weaknesses
- Provide targeted, differentiated instruction based on student performance data
- Track and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Communicate weekly progress updates and score improvement plans to students and parents
- Maintain a structured, high-energy classroom environment that promotes focus and engagement
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of math teaching experience, with at least 3 years focused on SAT/ACT Math prep
- Proven record of student SAT Math score improvements of 100–200+ points
- Strong understanding of Digital SAT structure, question types, and scoring
- Ability to explain advanced math concepts clearly to middle and high school students
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Must be able to complete a teaching demonstration and/or qualification test during the interview process
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in competitive school districts (e.g., MCPS, private, magnet programs)
- Familiarity with College Board Bluebook platform and digital testing format
- Experience developing SAT Math curriculum or original practice materials
- Experience tutoring high-achieving students targeting 700+ in SAT Math
