American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, with interventional cardiac cath lab experience required.

Works in a 5-room Cardiac Cath Lab unit with an average daily census of 25 patients
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)

Requires working 2–3 weekends per contract

On-call required as needed

Floating within scope is required, including potential floats to nearby affiliate hospitals
-
Procedures include: circulating, diagnostic adult catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, and pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring

Procedural sedation administration and monitoring is required
-
Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
-
Setting: 562-bed acute care hospital — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility

Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)

Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required

Interventional cardiac cath lab experience required

Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required

Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required

Cerner EMR experience required
-
SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted for this position

RTO is ideally no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval

Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation

Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
