Make a Difference Where It Matters Most
Teenagers don't need another lecture.
They need someone who listens, challenges them, believes in them, and helps them discover who they can become.
That's what we do every day at NextGen Counseling.
We're a Pennsylvania DDAP-licensed outpatient treatment program specializing in adolescent substance use, gambling, gaming, and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. Our clinicians work with youth, families, schools, probation departments, and community partners to create meaningful change—not just complete treatment plans.
We're growing, and we're looking for clinicians who are passionate about working with adolescents.
Our Ideal Candidate: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
We are actively seeking a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our clinical team.
An LPC credential is strongly preferred because it expands our ability to provide services through commercial insurance while helping us continue growing access to care for teens throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
If you are licensed, or are on the path toward licensure, we'd love to hear from you.
Other Qualified Applicants
We also welcome applications from candidates who meet Pennsylvania DDAP counselor qualifications, including:
- Licensed Associate Professional Counselors (LAPC)
- Licensed Social Workers (LSW)
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
- Master's-level clinicians working toward licensure
- Qualified DDAP Counselors and Counselor Assistants meeting state education and experience requirements
DDAP Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet Pennsylvania DDAP requirements through one of the following:
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or another related behavioral health field.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical dependency, psychology, counseling, social work, nursing (clinical specialty), or related human service field with one year of qualifying clinical experience.
- Associate's degree in an approved field with three years of qualifying experience.
Required clearances include:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
- FBI Criminal History Clearance
What You'll Do
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy for adolescents (ages 12–18).
- Complete comprehensive assessments and treatment planning.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and family-centered approaches.
- Collaborate with parents, schools, juvenile justice, child welfare, and referral sources.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in clinical supervision and team consultation.
- Help build a treatment environment where teens feel respected, understood, and motivated to grow.
