Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Technician, where your passion for animal care and veterinary medicine will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Shifts: 1-6pm, 3 to 4 weeknights and every other Saturday 7:30am-1pm. There is opportunity to pick-up additional shifts if interested.
Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety and comfort during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare and maintain veterinary equipment, including radiology diagnostics, laboratory tools, and medical supplies
- Support veterinary procedures such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, catheterization, and administering medications under supervision
- Monitor animals during anesthesia using veterinary anesthesia monitoring techniques and assist with general anesthesia protocols
- Perform diagnostic radiology including X-ray procedures while maintaining aseptic technique and radiation safety standards
- Conduct laboratory work such as sample collection, processing, and analysis for diagnostic purposes
- Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and pet training to promote overall well-being
- Working hands on with doctors, as a medical/veterinary scribe.
Requirements
- Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; experience with dogs and cats
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and emergency medicine practices is helpful.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely using proper techniques for various species
- Proficiency in veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
