Assistant Fabrication Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Operations Supervisor to help oversee daily production within a busy steel fabrication facility. This leadership position is responsible for supporting shop operations, improving workflow, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in steel fabrication or industrial manufacturing and enjoys leading employees while working closely with engineering, project management, and field personnel to keep production moving.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of fabrication shop operations.
- Coordinate production priorities with engineering, project management, and scheduling teams.
- Supervise shop personnel and provide leadership to production supervisors and manufacturing employees.
- Assign and balance workloads to maximize productivity and meet delivery commitments.
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain project schedules.
- Work with shipping and logistics personnel to ensure completed orders are staged and shipped on time.
- Communicate production updates and scheduling information with customers, project managers, and field teams.
- Support hiring efforts, employee onboarding, and ongoing workforce development.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing company policies and OSHA safety practices.
- Evaluate production processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and product quality.
- Complete reports, operational documentation, and other management responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, industrial production, or a related environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Shop Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or similar management role.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, workflow coordination, and production scheduling.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Professional attitude with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and management.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work additional hours as business needs require.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
