Our Telluride, Colorado office is currently seeking a Survey Technician Party Chief. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in the following areas: boundary, easement, right-of-ways, topo surveys, GPS RTK and Static surveys, design surveys, aerial mapping, and construction layout. We will consider candidates with no direct experience if they demonstrate interest in a long-term survey career, strong math skills, a hard work ethic, and a desire to work outdoors. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado
Pay is based on experience & qualifications:
$29.50-$45.40/hr.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate with the client, the client’s representative, and contractors

Supervise field survey team
-
Ensure team is properly equipped with personal protection equipment and following safety protocol

Prepare field notes
-
Follow local, state, and federal survey regulations
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of land surveying experience
-
Valid Driver’s License
-
Physically capable of performing typical land surveying tasks, including the ability to carry 50+ lbs. of survey gear through mountainous terrain

Detailed understanding of coordinate systems

Ability to work independently or as part of a crew

Motivated problem solver

Ability to work long hours when needed with occasional out-of-town travel
Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Colorado LSI or PLS
-
Experience as a Party Chief

Civil 3D experience
-
GIS experience
-
Trimble software and hardware experience
-
Diverse surveying experience with GPS and conventional surveying equipment including boundary retracement, construction staking, topographic mapping, and legal description preparation
