Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Cook a variety of menu items with precision, attention to detail, and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to uphold food safety standards
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Support menu planning by assisting with ingredient prep and portion control
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
- Follow all food safety regulations and proper knife skills techniques during food preparation
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Restaurant or food industry experience demonstrating proficiency in food handling and meal preparation
- Culinary experience with a focus on cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Familiarity with menu planning, food service operations, and catering is a plus
- Strong knife skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
