Duties

- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect, cooperation, and independence.
- Use learning technology tools to enhance instruction and support diverse learning styles.
- Develop individualized learning plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services, including working with children with autism or other developmental needs.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Mentor and collaborate with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, and educational staff to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery and professional growth.
- Engage in parent communication through conferences, updates, and written reports to keep families informed about their child's development.
- Incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching philosophies where applicable to enrich the learning experience.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, lesson plans, and classroom activities in accordance with education administration standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in a classroom setting with strong classroom management skills.
- Expertise in early childhood education principles, childhood development theories, and teaching physical education activities suitable for kindergarten students.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, colleagues, and administrative staff.
- Strong writing skills for creating detailed lesson plans, assessments, and progress reports.
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and math instruction tailored for early learners.
- Ability to develop engaging curriculum content that incorporates library services and integrates learning technology tools effectively.
- Experience with special education needs including working with children with autism or those requiring early intervention support.
- Familiarity with private school environments or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Skills in tutoring or providing additional support for students needing extra help in core subjects like reading or math.
- Competence in behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and productive classroom environment.
