Position Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you'll travel throughout Northern California installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, and certifying industrial weighing and inspection equipment.
Every day is different.
One day you may be troubleshooting an industrial floor scale.
The next you may be calibrating laboratory balances or installing a new food inspection system.
You'll work directly with customers, solve technical problems, and represent Right Weigh Scale as a professional technical service expert.
What You'll Do
- Travel independently to customer facilities throughout Northern California.
- Install, configure, and commission industrial weighing and inspection equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration services.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures using multimeters, diagnostic software, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Repair scales, indicators, load cells, printers, barcode equipment, metal detectors, and related industrial systems.
- Complete accurate digital work orders, calibration certificates, and service documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommendations.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, calibration standards, and inventory.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Participate in ongoing technical and professional development.
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, automation, or field service experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, laptops, and digital applications.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and safely perform physical work throughout the day.
Preferred
Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Build a strong foundation by developing skills in troubleshooting, calibration, repairs, customer service, and independent field service.
Senior Field Service Technician
Take on advanced diagnostics, automation systems, laboratory balances, product inspection equipment, mentoring newer technicians, and complex customer projects.
Lead Technician
Lead larger installations, assist technicians in the field, improve workflows, mentor team members, support technical problem-solving, and work closely with management to strengthen department operations.

Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay
$25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience, technical background, and demonstrated aptitude.
Candidates with strong industrial maintenance, electrical, automation, instrumentation, or field service experience may qualify for a higher starting wage.
Performance reviews are conducted throughout your employment, and wage increases are based on demonstrated competency, technical growth, leadership, and overall performance—not simply time employed.

- Daily travel throughout Northern California
- Approximately 75% field work 25% in shop
- Occasional overtime based on customer needs
