General Responsibilities

INTERNAL ONLY

Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst(BCBA) and classroom teacher, the Lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plans developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments. The Lead RBT will provide leadership and support to Registered Behavior Technicians working in Therapeutic Programs.

Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $32.89 - $40.02 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Assignment:
There are two positions available, and they are 8 hours per day, 210 days per year.

This position will close on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. and is INTERNAL ONLY (only ESD 112 employees will be considered).

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

Perform tasks assigned by the BCBA/BCaBA and Special Education Teacher
Provide training and support to Registered Behavior Technicians through professional development, real time modeling, behavior skills training, and data collection as directed by the BCBA/BCaBA or Special Education Teacher.
Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.
Collect data and report student progress. Maintain accurate data collection records.
Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the BABA/BCaBA or Special Education Teacher, and participate as a member of the education team, including attending parent conferences or IEP meetings as directed.
Create and update daily support schedules for assigned classrooms under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher.
Consult with the BCBA/BCaBA, Special Education Teacher, and related service providers to assist with communication between behavior support staff and ensure protocols and procedures are implemented by behavior support staff with fidelity.
Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members.
Lead in the implementation of positive behavior intervention systems and probing of new skills/interventions as assigned by the BCBA/BCaBA and Special Education Teacher.
Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.

Other Functions:

Other duties as assigned.
Attend various training sessions needed in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of behavioral intervention and other related meetings.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; OR AA degree/equivalent credits (72 quarter/48 semester) and two years of experience working with individuals with behavior or mental health issues; OR HS diploma/GED and three years of experience working with individuals with behavior or mental health issues.
Hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential through the BACB.
One year of experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training and/or experience in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques.
Training and/or experience in implementation of positive behavior supports.
Training and/or experience in Collaborative Problem Solving.
Training in functional behavior analysis and/or functional communication training.
Two years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.
Working knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and procedures.
Master's degreee or accepted to or currently enrolled/in good standing in a Master's degree program in a behavior-related field.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions:

Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs, including but not limited to: tube feeding, catheterization, changing diapers, toileting, and other activities of daily life.
Job involves sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, carrying, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, crouching, pushing and pulling.
Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
Students may use challenging or offensive verbalizations toward staff and other students with potential to escalation to physical aggression.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
