Food Distribution Coordinator – NON CDL
Job Summary:
Responsible for the implementation and coordination of the USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), this position includes caseload management and outreach for the program in compliance with operating guidelines of the New York State Department of Health. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment, training, retention and compliance of CSFP and distribution site development.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with senior housing communities and other community partners.
- Provide CSFP information and referrals for individuals calling or coming in for assistance.
- Provide training and assistance to CSFP distribution site managers and volunteers regarding proper distribution procedures of commodity food boxes (paperwork and box distribution).
- Carry distributions of the CSFP commodities on site while complying with the program regulations.
- Connect individuals to community resources and educate them on local supports.
- New client enrollment and database maintenance.
Job Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience in customer service experience helping community members access services on Long Island.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Previous experience driving a non-CDL box truck preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Posses high standards of professional ethics and conduct, while working in a fast-paced environment,
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Incumbents in this role must be available to work Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional Saturday availability as needed. The position requires flexibility to support both indoor and outdoor community sites, as well as frequent travel throughout the region. Candidates must also be able to repeatedly lift up to 40 pounds.
Hourly rate: $25.00/hr
