Responsibilities
- Provide professional hair styling, cutting, coloring, and texturing services tailored to each client’s preferences and features
- Perform specialized treatments such as hair extensions, hair threading, eyelash extensions, and makeup application to elevate client satisfaction
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and work areas according to health regulations
- Use salon software and management systems like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, update client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Offer expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail upselling opportunities to enhance client loyalty
- Communicate clearly with clients to understand their desired looks and provide professional recommendations based on color theory and current trends
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing wait times, and supporting store management in daily operations
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair styling, coloring, barbering (including straight razor use), and nail care
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license with comprehensive knowledge of salon sanitation practices
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with expertise in hair styling, coloring, and cutting techniques
- Familiarity with salon software platforms such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
- Skills in hair extensions, hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective client consultation and retail sales upselling
- Ability to perform store management tasks including retail math calculations and front desk responsibilities
- Knowledge of barbering techniques including straight razor shaving is a plus
- Passion for ongoing learning in hair care trends, color theory, and advanced cosmetology skills
