Become a crucial part of The Borough's Front of House team at our fast casual café. As a FOH Team Member, you will be the face of our establishment, providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, crafting espresso and specialty beverages, and preparing acai bowls, all while contributing to a vibrant and welcoming dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all guests
- Take and process orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and attentiveness
- Prepare and craft a variety of espresso and specialty beverages to perfection
- Assemble and serve acai bowls, smoothies, and boba ensuring consistent quality and presentation
- Run food orders to guests and maintaining the dining room
- Follow standardized recipes and procedures to maintain the integrity of our menu offerings
- Handle food ingredients and beverages safely, adhering to hygiene and sanitation guidelines to uphold food safety standards
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth front-of-house operations
- Participate in opening and closing duties, including cleaning and organizing the front of house area
- Embrace a culture of collective responsibility for maintaining a welcoming and clean café environment
- Adapt to the dynamic nature of a new café, actively engaging in learning and evolving processes and procedures
- Demonstrate openness to growth and change, contributing positively to the development of our FOH team and operations
- Engage in constructive feedback and continuous learning opportunities as we grow and refine our practices
Compensation:
- Starting wage: $12.50 per hour plus split tip pool
- Tip Arrangement: Tips are distributed evenly among all team members based on hours worked specific to that day.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or food service environment is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to contribute to various FOH duties and work collaboratively with the team
- Weekend availability
Working Environment:
- The job involves standing for extended periods, working in a fast-paced environment, and handling food and beverage preparation equipment and tools
- Exposure to various food items and cleaning chemicals is part of the role
- Being able to stoop, stand, and bend for the entirety of a shift is required
