Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a high-performing team in a home infusion setting. This role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality patient care while driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee all day-to-day pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy regulations, FDA requirements, DEA regulations, and applicable federal healthcare laws.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensure medications and pharmacy supplies are properly ordered, stored, handled, prepared, and disposed of.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, documentation, inventory, and controlled-substance records.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and quality assurance activities.
- Monitor pharmacy operations to ensure adherence to home infusion industry standards and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance.
Clinical & Patient Care
- Oversee the safe, accurate, and timely preparation and dispensing of medications for home infusion patients.
- Review medication orders and therapy regimens for appropriateness, safety, compatibility, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Provide medication therapy management, patient counseling, and education related to home infusion therapies.
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, lead, train, and mentor pharmacy staff.
- Build a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable pharmacy team.
- Establish clear expectations, workflows, and performance standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Address employee concerns, performance issues, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
Collaboration & Professional Relationships
- Establish strong relationships with physicians, nurses, healthcare organizations, manufacturers, and other healthcare partners.
- Serve as a clinical and operational resource for the pharmacy and broader home infusion team.
- Represent Vital Care professionally within the home infusion and pharmacy communities.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist license.
- 5+ years of pharmacy experience preferred.
- Significant home infusion pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience managing, supervising, or leading pharmacy staff.
- Strong knowledge of Ohio pharmacy regulations and applicable federal pharmacy requirements.
- Understanding of home infusion pharmacy operations and medication management.
Compensation Summary
1. Base Salary
- $150,000–$160,000 annually
- Annual performance and compensation review based on franchise profitability, patient volume, operational readiness, and overall performance.
2. Performance-Based Bonus
Target bonus opportunity: 15%–30% of base salary, equivalent to approximately $22,500–$48,000 annually.
Bonus components may include:
- Launch & Compliance Bonus — up to 10% in Year 1
- Full pharmacy licensure
- Cleanroom and regulatory compliance
- Successful operational launch
- State Board inspections/audits completed without major deficiencies
- Volume & Revenue Performance — 10%–15%
- Active patient census
- Monthly infusion therapy volume
- Revenue and/or EBITDA targets
- Achievement of agreed-upon operational milestones
- Quality & Patient Care — up to 5%
- Patient retention
- Medication safety and low error rates
- Timely order verification and turnaround
- Quality and clinical service metrics
3. Long-Term Incentive / Profit Sharing
- 1%–3% profit-sharing opportunity earned over 3–4 years, subject to the pharmacy reaching defined positive cash-flow and/or profitability milestones.
- Specific vesting terms and eligibility criteria to be agreed upon in the employment agreement.
4. Paid Time Off & Other Benefits
- Vacation/PTO and applicable standard employment benefits to be provided according to company policy.
