Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical development aligned with best practices in toddler care and early childhood education.
- Provide attentive supervision and care to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of each child throughout the day.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and emotional regulation among toddlers.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain detailed records of each child's development, attendance, and classroom activities in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Manage classroom routines including meal times, naps, diapering, and transitions smoothly to create a structured yet flexible environment.
- Incorporate specialized approaches such as Montessori methods or preschool teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in daycare or preschool settings with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Knowledge of curriculum development focused on early intervention, literacy education, math readiness, and physical education for toddlers.
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques suitable for children with diverse needs.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that promote curiosity, exploration, and foundational skills in a nurturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required to ensure immediate response during emergencies.
- Experience with classroom management tools, standardized testing (if applicable), and toddler care best practices such as Montessori or other early childhood education frameworks.
