Position Summary
The Assistant Baker supports our bakery team in all aspects of daily production, from ingredient preparation and dough production to baking, meal service, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. This is a hands-on position where every team member helps wherever needed to produce exceptional food and provide an outstanding customer experience.
Kitchen experience is strongly preferred, but we're happy to train highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in their work and are eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily bagel production, including mixing dough, shaping, topping, baking, and finishing products.
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
- Work during meal service to prepare customer orders, assemble menu items, and support the front-of-house team in delivering an excellent guest experience.
- Wash, chop, and prepare produce and other ingredients.
- Help maintain efficient workflow during production.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Assist with inventory, labeling, stock rotation, and reporting low inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and prep area.
- Wash dishes and assist with general cleaning throughout the shift.
- Work closely with the bakery team to ensure consistent quality and timely production.
Qualifications
- Kitchen or bakery experience is strongly preferred.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- ServSafe Food Handler Certificate preferred, or willingness to obtain.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
