Position Summary:
JCCA’s Preventive Services division is seeking a dedicated Therapist to join our Family Treatment and Rehabilitation (FTR) Program. FTR provides critical support to families where a caregiver or child is coping with substance use or mental health challenges. As part of this team, you will help keep children safe at home, strengthen family systems, and guide families toward stability and healing.
Our Preventive Programs work with families facing complex issues—including substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, child behavioral challenges, truancy, and parental stress. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct office, home, and community visits to assess safety, establish treatment goals, and support families in meeting program requirements
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy, using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches
- Complete clinical assessments and maintain documentation in accordance with NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) guidelines
- Deliver all required case management services outlined in the Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP)
- Attend interdisciplinary case conferences, staff meetings, and inter-agency meetings (schools, hospitals, ACS, etc.)
- Participate in planning and implementing client group activities and represent Preventive Services at community events
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT)
- Knowledge of individual, family, and group therapeutic modalities
- Understanding of issues impacting families affected by abuse, neglect, trauma, substance use, and mental illness
- Familiarity with child development and family functioning
- Ability to engage and build rapport with families who may be hesitant, overwhelmed, or resistant
- Excellent writing and documentation skills
- Commitment to working effectively with culturally and professionally diverse clients and teams
- Spanish and/or Haitian Creole fluency is a strong asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.05 - $33.34 per hour
